High-security cylinders address two different problems and it is worth being clear which one you have. Key control comes from a restricted or patented keyway, where blanks are not sold openly and duplicates require documented authorisation. Physical attack resistance comes from hardened inserts, anti-drill pins and anti-pick features. A cylinder can offer one without the other, and the wrong choice solves a problem you did not have.

Is a high-security cylinder worth it on a weak door?
