Is higher-grade hardware always better for a the Lower Mainland home?
Not by itself. A commercial-grade lockset on a light residential door and frame concentrates force somewhere the door cannot take it. Matching the hardware to the actual door produces a more reliable entry than buying up a grade.
Can I keep one key for every door?
Usually, where the cylinders are compatible - they can be keyed alike so one key operates several doors. Whether that is a good idea depends on who holds keys, since one key opening everything also means one lost key affects everything.
